This is a strange selection! I hate YA books, but this one is a BIG winner (National Book Award, PEN Award), and it is also representative of a weird curve my life has taken.
This book is about adoption and family. It's told from three different perspectives. Each narrator just recently found out that they are siblings. They have different adoption stories, different lives, different backgrounds. They come together to answer some questions. What is family? Is it blood? Is it nurture? Do you have similarities with blood relatives you've never met? Do you automatically like the people you are related to?
This story examines those themes.
